...and for the first 12 months I was stagnant at $45k - $50k per month…
I relied only on referrals and word of mouth…
I was signing 1-2 new clients per month and I was losing 1-2 clients per month…
This was when I realized that the ONLY way I could sign more clients on a monthly basis (and actually grow my agency) was if I spoke with more potential clients on a monthly basis through a sales call…
(I know, crazy realization right? Haha)
So I set out to find the BEST way to generate qualified sales calls with prospects who were:
- In my niche...
- Wanted my EXACT services...
- And actually had the money to pay my retainer…
I tried everything. Literally, everything.
❌ Cold email
❌ Cold calling
❌ Posting organic content
❌ Building a personal brand
❌ Strategic referral partnerships with other agencies
❌ Running ads to a free lead magnet
Nothing worked.
Everything I tried generated either zero calls, very inconsistent calls or very unqualified calls.
And even the few sales calls I did take all told me one of the following:
🚨 “Sounds great, send me a proposal” (and then proceeded to ghost me, never hearing back from them)
🚨 “I just don’t see how this is different from what I’m currently doing”...
Or the worst one…
🚨 “This sounds great, I just cannot afford $4k/month right now… maybe in a few months time”...
So just like I had done so many times before, I tried another new way of getting clients...
..Because what I was already doing clearly wasn’t working.
